I like the new paint scheme even better than the old one. I wouldn't be concerned about running both paint schemes at the same time, many railroads had multiple paint jobs going at once.
I have A pic of there sister Cadillac SD-7's. They are a set of proto 2000's that I got undecorated and painted for the home road. They were once the big freighters on the road until the Train Masters came out. Now they run the secondary and local freights.
