.....I tried scratch building the decorative parapet from 2 sheets of .020 styrene cut as close as i could to get them to match up with a hole cut in the front section but they came out horribly. I'm going to give it another shot and see how it turns out. These are the panels im talking about.

For your structure, I'd combine the DPM parts with .060" sheet styrene (for the upper portion) - the extra thickness will work well with the DPM parts and will add rigidity to that long wall.
