VERY nice work and good eye for detail!
If you look carefully you can see the small angled pieces that came with the kit, they are glued in place behind the gable ornaments and fit just inside the walls. The block of wood was just a scrap piece of 2" by 2" from our garden railroad project that I placed the finished roof on when taking the pics.
