The industry continues on the other side of the street. Therefor both street fronts should match while the backyard walls are plain. I will see if the buildings should be connected via a bridge over the road. That would emphasize the "one industry" impression.

That was exactly what I thought when I saw the pic and the revised building design. a covered walkway, or a walkway including some pipes and cable trays/ducts would work really well for this purpose. You could also do this with a covered conveyor, if loose materials such as grains or pellets are transported from one building to another.
