That was exactly what I thought when I saw the pic and the revised building design. a covered walkway, or a walkway including some pipes and cable trays/ducts would work really well for this purpose. You could also do this with a covered conveyor, if loose materials such as grains or pellets are transported from one building to another.

Why have the high maintenance equipment?

Here's the way I would do that based on my industrial observations.


Raw material arrives by truck to the production plant,then the product is transfered to plant 2 for finishing by trailer pulled by a yard tractor.A lot of companies use this method since it cheaper then maintaining a mechanical system..
