Thanks Willie and Dave. Seems that you two have given the best advice of all. I have 2-10-0 steam locomotive that I am sure would give me a problem with a grade. I haven't the room for a 1 or 2 percent grade and will probably try a 3 to 4 percent grade. I know I am trying to fit a back yard layout onto a postage stamp but that is the fun of it all.
