I know what you mean about putting an idea in concrete, I'm also hesitant about a lot of what I do , do I do wood abudments or stone , block retaining wall or wood etc. I guess what you can do for block detection if your thinking about it is run some wires under the layout and put the insulators and then you can take move forward.
