More Live Steam Fun
#1
As mentioned in another thread, my family & I have visited a few live steam events recently. This past Saturday, we went to the Richmond Hill Live Steamers which is located in the country on a beautiful wooded property on the Oak Ridges Moraine, about 45 minutes north of Toronto.

I took some 65 pics but here are are few to start with. There are at least 3 gauges of track there. There are the really large locos where you climb into a car to ride on and the much smaller ones where your legs straddle the track (I'm not familiar with these outdoor gauges!). Of course, we love the live steam models and even tolerate the odd diesel.

There was a really nice larger-gauge Mikado that was a real treat to ride on as well as a (a Mogul, IIRC). There were several in the smaller gauges, a few tank engines and a really nice British City of London Pacific.

So these pics show two shots of the large Mikado, one of the City of London Duchess Class and one showing a Chessy diesel. This was an open house event so there were several other locos there that day.
