As I recall, those Atlas units came apart by squeezing the hoods near their ends, down low near the walkways. There are two cast-on protrusions on the inside edges of the frame near each end, and these mate into depressions in tabs which are part of the hood sides, extending from the lower edges. The operation is a "squeeze and lift", preferably of both ends at the same time.
