I hear ya Steve and I feel your pain. Things are looking up though. 
The plan Kurt did up for me also calls for # 6's. (I'm not complaining though!!!) I'm in the same boat as you in a way, as my turnout jig is for #5's. I'm sure I could hand lay some 6's using a template, but I'm feeling kinda lazy.
Track laying is the best part isn't it?
