If push came to shove, I would try making my own out of brass rod, or a small brass nail or screw. If you could file the head of the nail or screw to the right size/shape, cut the screw just a bit longer than the total length to be joined, drill a tiny hole into the end of the screw, install, then mushroom over the end of the screw by centering a punch in the hole - it may work. It would be a royal PITA, but if you only need one or two, definitely feasible.
