An advantage to using the die and foil to make the siding is that you can get scale thickness corrugated metal with that method. You will probably want to "back it up" with some styrene or card stock, but if you remember not to lift by the eves, you can leave an 1/8 inch overhang that will look scale thickness when viewed from the side.
