Hey Guys!
I guess it's that time of year again, so I thought I'd dig this oldie up! I've been messing around with this a little lately. Since my last posts, I've added a new layer of foam to extend the depth to 15", and 18" at the bump. It opened up things somewhat. I've got most of the track soldered in to one piece, no feeders yet.
My concern, at least for right now is making the scrap yard look bigger than I have room for. My thought right now is to hide track and run it through the arched building and then be able to spot the gons at the left end of the layout. Hard part would be to not make it look goofy with a hole running through it. I could use some of the buildings to hide it, and since it will just be gons, the height can be somewhat low.
I have access to a wide format printer and will go to Shamrock to take pictures of all the scrap piles and make that part of the backdrop.
Can someone point me toward some pics of track hidden inside buildings?
