UP/UPY SD38-2 with three vents
#1
Initiated by my new Kato UPY SD38-2 835 did I start to look after some photos of UP/UPY Gp38-2 in the internet.
No problem but I found a couple of engines (e.g. UPY825) called UP/UPY SD38-2 in the 8XX road number range with three/3 vents at the end of the long hood. It is my understanding the 38 has two/2 vents. Three vents are beside other differences typical for the GP/SD40 machines.
Are there EMD build SD38-2 with three vents or is that the result of one of so many rebuilds? May be down graded SD40-2 because some of the suspicious engines have four stacks in groups of two?
