No rush, I just really enjoyed that thread, and all the pictures you posted. I can't wait to see your new layout progress.

Thanks Dave! ...and you are not the only one!

With a heavy heart I will begin tear down of the old one in February. I'll start removing all the electrical underneath the deck first and then start pulling up the track work. I'll post some heart breaking pictures of the progress and once March Break hits, I'll be able to start doing some of the "heavy work" i.e. reworking some of the old bench work, new decking which will be 3/4 Birch ply, 1/2 Homasote roadbed plus an airbrush painting booth will be installed as part of the bench work.

Lots coming up in a few weeks. I learned so much building the first incarnation. I hope to apply all I learned this time around and make the second version truly better in many ways. I also could not have gotten as far as I could without the encouragement and advice of the members in this great on-line community. So if I haven't said it before. Thanks to all of you!
