Ralph, I think the vcr wouldn't be needed. The usb converter changes the signal from analog to digital. Nice drawing by the way, You drew it exactly the way I was telling you. I probably should have thought of that but my hand drawn pictures leave a lot to be desired.
I forgot, but The Allegheny Northern club had that same camera and they hooked it to a VCR. I took the tape and made a DVD, with sound that I had from the railroad videos I had, so I could be pretty accurate. The only thing I didn't have was a car on the ground and the sudden stop, which I managed to do using an audio file, and an emergency air application while our locomotive was sitting still. It was fun doing it.
