Simple weathering

A CR SW1500 (Athearn) get weathered with a water based black wash. The glossy surface did not work well and I used an alcohol based wash. I knew I may get some white patches but they can be softened by more water based wash getting some kind of fading. Not this time.... The alcohol worked like white paint, the following black wash made a mess and dull coat could not cure the problem anymore and I had to take the emergency exit :o



I become the proud owner of an undecorated SW1500. I will take my time to decide what to do. Back to CR blue is one option but I have three more CR SW1500 in my roster..

Lesson learned: alcohol based wash works many times but sometime ....
