Here's the Grand Valley's "lucky" 26 - lucky because she survived a head-on collision with a concrete floor after plunging 3'. Somebody didn't have the entryway liftout in place.

Wayne I have 2 "protected" sections about 12" long on either side of the lift-out, so if an engine comes into the lift-out it will stop before taking the plunge... These sections are automatically powered when the lift out is in place, and unpowered when it's out. It has saved my locos several times...
