58 now and the NWS has only allowed an additional 5 degrees for today. Similar temperatures for the next few days along with chances for rain almost every day for the next week. It won't take too much longer before the farmers in the area start getting surly about not being able to get into the fields for harvest.
It's been pretty quiet around here. Mostly just chasing after great-grandkids various events. On Monday I canceled my XM radio subscription after 18 years. It was just getting too expensive. When I tried to cancel it on line they supposedly had a"problem with that page." Of course it was just to get you to talk to someone to "see if we can find a better deal." No thanks.
Today's agenda so far only has one item on it. A quick trip to the gym for some regularly scheduled sweating. Also need to stop at the grocery store for a couple of things.
Gas was $4.11 yesterday afternoon.

Good evening folks
Long week. I worked 3 nights this week. I then worked from home yesterday and today because our office was having electrical issues. The night work played havoc with doing anything on the layout.
The weather apparently is going to be an issue with rain and wind. Saturday we must take the dog to the groomer. My wife and I will be going out to dinner to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Our anniversary is actually on Monday but with work and the fact that the rebuild on our living room begins, we decided to go on Saturday.
Sunday we will be getting ready for the upcoming construction to put our walls and floors back together after the plumbing repairs earlier this year. I will have to do some errands and some laundry.
I want to finish breaking in my Bowser Executive Line New York Ontario & Western F3A locomotives. I hope to use them in running a train and doing a video. Not sure what other modeling I will have time for.

More rain in progress outside my window this morning. 60 now and the NWS is only allowing about 4 more degrees for today.
Quiet day yesterday. Only activities were a trip to the gym for my regularly scheduled sweating and a quick visit to the local grocery vendor for some eggs. This morning is the usual laundry followed by pretty much nothing. I was planning to attend a soccer match late this afternoon but the forecast will be keeping me home. Supposed to be rainy and windy.
Tom - congratulations on 35 years and here's to at least 35 more.

63 and cloudy at the moment and the NWS is allowing us a few more degrees to be doled out throughout the day culminating (there's that fancy word again) in a high near 70.
A new week is underway although for us retirees it's hard to distinguish it from previous weeks. Gym this morning after a trip to Walmart for a few things not available in other stores. Maybe a short bike ride this afternoon.

Good evening folks
Thank you for the congratulations.
Unfortunately, our anniversary dinner did not go as planned. We were dealing with the rain from the Nor’easter when we had to run out and do some errands on Saturday. We both were not feeling well most of the day. We decided that since the restaurant was at least a 30-to-40-minute drive with good weather, we would postpone it. Neither of us wanted to drive in nasty weather in the dark. We will go out another night.
With the weather still bad on Sunday we planned on staying home and doing things to prep for the upcoming repair work to the house. However, we had to go out to drop off a package at the UPS Store and make a couple of returns to Kohl’s. Later we started organizing stuff so the contractor could move the items out so they can work on the walls and floor.
I finished doing break in runs with my Bowser New York Ontario & Western F7A locomotives and was getting ready to make up a train when I noticed one coupler was broken. It was at that point I realized the couplers were plastic. I moved both locomotives to work bench to change over to metal couplers. It is very annoying that you spend good money on detailed and well running unit and the manufacturer cheaps out on the couplers with plastic. Once the locomotives were upgraded, I started to make the train. However, I did not get far, as the first cars were new Roundhouse/Athearn cars and I had to replace the plastic McHenry couplers with Kadee. I will try again tonight.
