Good evening folks
Today was the first day back to work. To say I am exhausted is an understatement. I did some light duty stuff. Basically, if I could watch it from the car I could do it. We will see what tomorrow brings.
Saturday I finally got out of the house. My wife and I went grocery shopping and stopped at the pharmacy. Afterwards I was dead tired. Sunday I hung around the house. My wife and daughter went to flower arrangement activity at a nearby winery. Later in the evening I took my car out and drove around some to see if I was having any issues. As a glutton for punishment, I went and got gas. At $3.85 a gallon it take long to reach $50.
I built several Accurail kts over the weekend. I did not build as many as I thought I would. I worked on my inventory program and downloaded a bunch of photos from Google Photos so I can post them later.
Tonight I am going to try to build a few more kits and rest.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Good to hear you're getting around!!
I've been trying to keep my gas tank at half, so when I fill it, it doesn't hurt as much.
Climbing to $4.15 around these parts..

Greetings, gang.
42, cloudy, and windy outside my window this morning. Maybe the mid 50s. Rain chances anywhere from 50% to 100% tomorrow through Friday.
Yesterday was quite productive. Picked up the oil for my car from Walmart but the filter section was almost completely empty. The filters must be stuck on a container ship somewhere. Stop at the nearby AutoZone and they had plenty. Once home I got the oil changed and cleaned up yet another batch of leaves, hopefully the last. After lunch I took an 8 mile bike ride and then put down the fertilizer/crabgrass killer. Also changed the oil on the mower and repaired the park bench that sits outside the back door. A couple of screw holes were stripped. A piece of dowel and some glue and that was taken care of.
Today I have no intention of being anywhere near that productive. Probably a trip to the gym this morning and after lunch I may start to repair the last bad spot in the living room floor.
Tom - glad to hear you are recovering. Just remember not to push too hard to start with.
Gas yesterday was $3.23 when I was out and about.
All stay safe.

Happy April Fool's Day, gang.
37 and clear at the moment but that will change as the day progresses. Rain will be moving in by this afternoon and hang around until Friday evening. The crystal ball gazers say maybe a couple of inches by the time it's all over.
As expected yesterday was not nearly as productive. I did get in a rather mild workout at the gym. After lunch I pulled up the plywood and discovered that the subfloor is just a little too low to make this an easy fix. Even an eighth inch piece of masonite would be too thick. After lots of head scratching and searching through my wood scrap tote I discovered a piece of formica left over from redoing the kitchen counter. Like the baby bear from the Goldilocks story said "it was j-u-s-t right." I'll probably be working on that project later today.
Gas price jumped to $3.59 yesterday.
All stay safe.

35 damp degrees in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Maybe 10 degrees warmer by the time the day is over. The NWS was quite accurate in its prediction. I wound up with about 2 and a quarter inches in my rain gauge since Wednesday.
Very quiet couple of days for me. I did manage to get in a 2 mile walk in the rain on Thursday but stayed in yesterday with the lightning in the area. I just wish it would have been warm enough to fire up my trusty space heater to sit on the porch during the rain. Laundry and maybe work some more on the floor repair today.
All stay safe.

Hello Blue.
Well my wife was sick all day Sunday, so I had leftover pizza for Easter dinner. We have 2 kids born 6 years apart on April 5. I refer to them as the twins. Anyway they decided to celebrate on Saturday instead of Easter Sunday. That's how I had food for yesterday. Gas is under four dollars but close.

Good evening folks
Our weather bouncing continues. Nice warmish temperatures over the weekend and tonight we have a freeze warning. Pennsylvania spring weather is so bipolar.
On my birthday, Friday, I went to the podiatrist to have them look at the blisters on the top of my left foot and the swelling going on in my feet and legs. They dressed the wound, gave me some topical meds and a couple of compression sleeves. On the way home I stopped at the pharmacy to pick up water pills my cardiologist prescribed. The blisters are healing and the swelling is going down. The pain from the surgeries is now very minor. My kids and wife took me out for birthday dinner to end the night.
Saturday, we bumped around the house. Ran the floor/rug cleaner throughout the first floor. Folded some laundry. I am still not allowed to carry any laundry baskets.
Sunday my daughter made Easter dinner without my assistance. Usually, I am in charge of the ham and any heavy lifting. This year I was ordered to relax.
I had a pretty productive three days. I built 19 Accurail and 2 Athearn blue box rolling stock kits. I upgrade the hook and horn couplers on a couple of older Atlas hoppers to Kadee couplers. I still have not ventured down to the basement for any long period of time so my sorting and reorganizing the 40 FT steel boxcars is on hold.
Today was an office day at work. I had a bunch of paperwork to catch up on and getting stuff together for Friday night’s set up of Stage 1 at the Bensalem Interchange.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

26 clear degrees in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Clouds will be bringing April showers later on and lasting through at least next Monday. Chances for rain vary from 20% to 70%. High today only in the low 40s, about 15 degrees below normal. Gradual warming begins tomorrow.
I did have a very quiet weekend. Then the mail arrived yesterday. I got a letter from the county auditor saying I forgot to include the check with my semi-annual payment. Over the weekend I had looked at my bank account and knew that they had cashed the check so needless to say I was a little cranky. A trip downtown where the clerk indicated to me that they had a rather loose method of document control. I'm still considering whether to go to the next county commissioner meeting to suggest maybe a better document control system is in order.
Over the weekend I finished the floor repair. I even got to use my new brad nailer. Now I just need to wait til the weather warms up enough to open doors and windows so I can stain the replacement wood.
SJ - I hope Mrs. SJ is feeling better.
Tom - Enjoy the not lifting while it lasts. After my back surgery my wife wouldn't even let me push the shopping cart. I learned why she always wanted me to go shopping with her. It's actually not too bad just walking around the store and looking at things.
Gas was $3.47 while I was out and about yesterday.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
33 and sunny this morning outside my window. Mid 50s for the high today. I'm a little disappointed (but not surprised) with the NWS. They've been claiming rain since Tuesday and I have yet to see a drop. More rain predictions through next week but the only real chance is on Saturday when soccer starts for the great-grandkids. Yep, I'll probably be standing in the rain to watch.
Yesterday the only real project I completed was putting the winter toys in the shed and getting out the summer toys. Swimming this morning at the gym and if the weather holds I'll take a bike ride this afternoon.
The house across the street went on the market Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday evening it had a sale pending sign. Seems a young lady firefighter offered above asking. Closing in a month. I never understood why it takes so long. Sure, there has to be a title search but otherwise in my opinion it's "Here's the money, I'll take the house." There's always drama right at closing also because they're not sure the money will be there. I guess that's why I never made my millions in real estate.
Gas jumped to $3.79 on Tuesday with the big jump in oil prices. Any guesses on what happened yesterday when oil dropped considerably? If you guessed no change you are correct. Still at $3.79
All stay safe.
