Fixing the oldies

Recently I have an interest in acquiring classic trains and fixing them up.  Something about the heft and durability I like compared to new models which feel delicate for my clumsy hands.

Here is a Hobbytown of Boston E7 that I got in rough shape and missing parts.  I fixed it up and painted it and it runs great now!

What were some of the missing parts, Kevin? She's nice looking now! Any before photos?

Yeah, I agree, it looks great!!!  If you have before & after pics, I'd be interested too

Don’t think i have before pics. It was missing the frame for one of the power trucks, and part of the driveline. This is a really cool model, might not be the most accurate but it is sturdy!!

And hefty! Good work rebuilding an old warhorse.

A Varney f3 from about 1950.  Not the most accurate model, but with paint and details should look nice.  I replaced the motor magnets with neodymium and it runs smooth.
