3 PGE diesel projects
#16
The same modeller gave me another engine to repaint into the PGE scheme. This time it was a Proto1000 RS-10. It started as a Canadian Pacific model.

This is the next generation paint scheme, started in the early sixies. I used a mix of paint manufacturers on this one. The orange ends and cab end was painted first with Vallejo orange, masked off and the rest of the cab and hoods were painted with tru-color PGE/BC rail dark green. The Tru-color paint is an acetone based paint so it dried very quickly but takes some care to clean the airbrush later.

The decals come from Black Cat and work very well.

After painting, decaling and sealing the shell I reinstalled the handrails. I airbrushed the handrails in the same vallejo orange and then hand-brushed the stantions using the tru-color green.
