Nov. 10, 1997. We turned the equipment on the wye just south of the KJR Bridge. I had a pilot and got to run on welded rail. We had to go east to clear the signal, then west to clear the signal in Freeport. It was different to run over 30MPH instead of 6 to 10. The STO later told me he was hoping we would go to Vandergrift and take some pictures because the track was out of service. I wish I had known that. That was the only time I got to run on the big guys track. turning the train
When the locomotive was moved from New Castle to Schenley it ran light with a pilot. I was not working at the time. I understand they passed the OCS along the way. That would have been a great picture to have.
