Here is a little different post for today, Ride along with me on a trip to Allegheny Ludlum in Bagdad along the Kiski JUnction Railroad in the snow. I got to see some beautiful scenes during my 15 years working this railroad, things the average person didn't get to see.
2/14/1978. Eastbound roaring through East Palestine. The allowed track speed, both tracks, was 10 MPH. Amtrak 41 had just ran west so I figured it was safe enough to take a quick shot here from track 2.

Exiting Gould Tunnel on the Panhandle line, just outside of Mingo Junction. February, 1979. This was the mainline to Columbus and St. Louis. Conrail turned it over to the state and the Ohio Central became the operator. It was the home of the PRR T1s for a few years, flat and straight.
