Greetings, gang.
Currently 52 under mostly clear skies. The NWS must have found some extra degrees in an old storage closet as our allotted high for today is 87. Previous record is 79. High for tomorrow is only supposed to be in the upper 40s.
Fun trip to see family. Got back mid afternoon yesterday. Must have been more tired than I thought as I was asleep before 10 last night and slept til 5:30 this morning. No major plan for today but whatever it is will be outside. Also need to revisit my friend who found the flooring. He found some more so I can finish the last area which is currently hidden under a rug. Excited to finish that project.
Gas dropped to $3.39 yesterday while I was gone.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
46 and breezy at the moment. Supposed to get to 49 later. The NWS must have used up all the extra degrees yesterday when it got to 89 which was 10 degrees higher than the previous record.
The warm weather really got me to be productive. In addition to the usual Saturday laundry I went for a 12 mile bike ride and cleaned up another batch of leaves left over from the winter. This morning I need to head to Target to pick up a few things. Otherwise not much planned for today.
Gas dropped again yesterday by a whole penny to $3.38.
All stay safe.

Good evening folks
Things definitely go as planned last week. The hernia surgery went well on Monday. It was outpatient and I was in and out of there in about 5 hours. Came home feeling beat up but otherwise in good shape. Tuesday things started to go downhill. The pain was not getting less but actually seemed to be getting worse. I barely ate anything. Wednesday morning the pain was getting unbearable. I woke my wife and told her we needed to go to the ER. Before we could leave, I vomited. We decided to go to the ER at the hospital I had the surgery performed which turned out to be a good thing. After a CAT Scan we found that the repair from Monday had failed and there was new bigger tear. Off to emergency surgery. I then spent the next 3 days in the hospital. I came home Saturday afternoon. I basically just relaxed around the house. I did some computer cataloging of some new rolling stock that arrived while I was in the hospital.
Sunday I continued taking it easy. I helped the wife repair a cabinet shelf. My contribution was holding the empty shelf in place. I then had to figure out why our new rug/floor cleaner was not picking up water. It turned out to be a wet filter. I built several rolling stock kits.
Today was more of the same. I had to make calls to doctors and schedule follow up appointments and such. I continued to build kits.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Greetings, gang.
Currently it's 35 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Both the temperature and the clouds will increase throughout the day with a high crystal balled to be in the upper 50s. 70s tomorrow then temperatures slide through the weekend. So sayeth the soothsayers at the NWS.
Fairly quiet day yesterday and today will be somewhat similar. Only major plans are to wash the car and then go to a movie this afternoon. Still need to get to my friend's house to get the additional flooring.
Wow, Tom! Hope everything is progressing toward a better recovery now.
Gas continuing to drop. Down to $3.29 this morning.
All stay safe.

Tom,
Glad you caught it in time, good call to go to the ER.
Hope you recover soon.
Myself,
Got the cast taken off my leg yesterday, now wearing a boot (again) for the next 3-4 weeks.
Crutching it around the house, haven't been able to go to the garage layout in over a month.
I do miss running the trains!

Greetings, gang.
45 now going to 75 later under mostly clear skies.
My friend brought the flooring to town yesterday so that saved me a trip. I already have it sanded and it's currently adjusting to the house. In a couple days I'll start cutting and fitting it into place. Lack of motivation resulted in the car not being washed but I did go see "Project Hail Mary" yesterday afternoon. Nice story with some pretty good CGI. Nothing planned for today other than a bike ride.
All stay safe.

55 going to maybe 65 with maybe some sprinkles, maybe.
Yesterday was a lot more productive than originally planned. I got the car washed and then put together the park bench that sits outside the back door. I took it apart last fall to stain and varnish it. Looks much better this year. After that I got in an 8 mile bike ride. This morning I need to get the plastic off the windows and maybe put down some pre-emergence fertilizer.
Gas is down to $3.23 this morning.
All stay safe.

Good afternoon folks
Currently it is 45. Our wonderful bipolar Pennsylvania weather continues. Yesterday near 70 and tonight it will be below freezing.
I am still recovering. I am getting around the house better and resuming some regular activities, but no heavy lifting. I have been assembling some rolling stock kits and work on inputting some cars into my inventory system.
As for the weekend, Saturday I am hoping to get out of the house. We need to do some shopping and perhaps a trip just somewhere else. I need to see and interact with folks who are not in scrubs or live in my house. I may continue sorting and putting in bins my collection of 40 FT steel boxcars as long s it does not involve any lifting of bins. I will continue building rolling stock models.
Sunday, my daughter and wife are going to a wine and flower arrangement event. I plan on doing a test drive of my car around the block. If that goes well, I will go get gas. I will continue model building and sorting. If I can clear the layout enough, I have a couple of new locos I would like to break in.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Hello Blue
On a rare March Easter Sunday in 1959 my wife and I got married after the morning service. 67 years ago. Not sure what today might bring. We might wait till tomorrow for our steak dinner as Texas Roadhouse won't be as busy on Monday.

Greetings, gang.
44 and clear in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. Supposed to be in the low 80s this afternoon with clouds moving in. Slight to good chances for rain during the coming week.
Pretty quiet weekend. Spent most of it between watching movies, reading, and watching a couple of my nieces dancing in competitions. Lots of humor in the family group chat during the performances. A while back I found out the ladies love to read the thread afterwards so I have been ending with a direct message to them about getting homework done and getting ready for school.
This morning I need to make a quick trip to Walmart for oil and filter for the car. Then it's time to clean up more leaves (I'm really beginning to dislike the high winds we've had lately) before putting down pre-emergence crabgrass killer.
All stay safe.
