Hello Blue
My wife seems to be feeling better. Not sure what was wrong. It was not a sickness. So I don't really know.
Here in SE Michigan, we are looking at a string of 70s for the coming week

I think the month may have to do with packing and finding a moving van. On both sides.
I had a railway to dismantle and 40 years worth of rly magazines to pack.

Greetings, gang.
31 brisk degrees this morning under clearing skies. Maybe mid 50s again today. The NWS finally came through on its rain promise. Got about a half inch yesterday.
Yesterday started out as planned. Trip to the gym followed by a trip to the grocery store on the pollution solution vehicle. That trip however killed any plans for additional riding in the afternoon. The clouds had rolled in and the temperature started to drop, removing any incentive I had for riding.
Another trip to the gym this morning followed by watching the Dancing Nieces this afternoon and evening. If the weather holds I may try for a bike ride also. I need to get in better shape for long rides. The city is about to close a major intersection to install a roundabout. For me that's not a big deal except that it will also close the bike trail. I'll need to take a longer ride to the next town via a new (2-3 years old) trail but that's 17 miles.
Gas price finally did drop 4cents late yesterday afternoon. $3.75 now.

Currently 44 headed for the upper 60s but that temperature will be moderated by off and on rain showers.
Yesterday was routine. Trip to the gym followed by....pretty much nothing. Laundry this morning followed by soccer at midday and of course standing in the rain while watching. Then 2 more performances from the Dancing Nieces late this afternoon. The things we do for family.

Another shop done gone.
Paris Junction Hobbies in Paris, Ontario. I went there (after my wife went to a craft store) and it was vacant with a closed sign on the door. A bit of research shows that the owners retired in October and couldn't find anyone to take it over.
They posted for a while on here or on the old Gauge, showing the store layout.

Same sad story... Noone wants to take over the family business because they have their own lives working for someone else.
They don't want the responsibility of running a business.

62 with some clouds approaching this morning. Slight chance of showers. High in the low 70s today and near 80 throughout the week until Saturday when the high is only supposed to be around 50 which will make for another day of lousy weather while watching soccer.
Yesterday was definitely not fun watching soccer. 50 degrees and 30 mph winds made watching downright uncomfortable. My great-grandson did score a goal however. While I was talking with him afterwards he asked if I saw his goal. I told him yes but the wind did half the work for him. It was over the other players' heads and the wind hooked it into the goal.
After the game I had a hot shower and coasted for the remainder of the afternoon. Watched the Dancing Nieces for a couple of performances. Their last event for the season will be in two weeks.
Today it will be warm enough to open doors and windows so I can stain the last section of flooring. Not much else planned for today. The other night I saw both of the security lights come on in the back yard. Upon investigation there were at leas 2 doe munching on the day lilies. The light didn't seem to bother them but when I rapped sharply on the window they disappeared rather quickly. First time that's actually worked.
Gas down again to $3.68 late yesterday.

Very foggy and 52 outside my window this morning. The fog is supposed to lift and there's a 50% chance of rain ans thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Had a very nice ride on the pollution solution vehicle. For the first time I actually rode with someone. He pulled up beside me and started talking about the intersection that will soon be close to install a roundabout. Moved on to other topics and chatted for the next twelve miles. Very different from my lone wolf rides. Only drawback - he rides slower than I do. Took an hour and forty minutes for an hour and 20 minute ride.
Floor repair update: my previous repairs keep getting lighter. They are almost a blond oak rather than golden oak. To fix the problem is going to entail pulling up the replaced flooring, sanding the varnish off, reinstalling and then re-staining it. The last batch appears to be going the same route - turning lighter as the stain continues to be absorbed into the wood. I'm going to varnish one strip of that section to see what happens.
Question for today - why can't a person buy just one 9v battery? Seems they are always sold in packages of 2.
