So, You think you just bought a lathe.....noooo, you bought a vast panorama of new "learning curves"!
![]() The emotion I'm feeling, it's, it's, yesssss, that's it, ENVY ![]() ![]() ![]() Have fun with your "new toy", and when you can, show us what you have made with it. ![]() ![]()
We always learn far more from our own mistakes, than we will ever learn from another's advice.
The greatest place to live life, is on the sharp leading edge of a learning curve. Lead me not into temptation.....I can find it myself!

I may not be a rivet counter, but I sure do like rivets!

My first attempts:
![]() An old rather coarse Märklin Tin-Plate wheel. On right the original apperance, on the left the turned wheel ![]() From Tin Plate to similar RP25/88 The flange depth was reduced from 1.4mm to 0.6mm The tire width was reduced from 3.2mm to 2.2mm Also i turned on the back of the wheel the rear of the spokes. Thus reducing the depth of the spokes and creating a finer appereance. The counter balance weight looks now right when it is now outside the wheel rim. Lutz
