Before starting that CSX F40PH project, I had started changing this Microtrains Troop Kitchen car over to an NS MoW Crew car. The big plan is to add some grab irons to get into the door easier, some steps, a propane tank, and cover up some of the windows to mimic sleeping areas. The MoW crane was just built today and awaits paint.

Great (and realistic) use of the troop car Mark!
The crane looks nice as well!

Thank you, but it's just some paint and decals so far when it comes down to it. The real test will be adding the needed additional details to pull off the look I'm going for.
Thanks to a very good friend who thought of my boys and I and our desire to create a MoW train, we're building our first of two white metal kits, and that crane is the first try in this medium. It's a bit different than plastic, but pretty rewarding so far. Boy...that crane is in serious need of some color...primer grey makes it look pretty bland.

That's looking good, Mark... once you get that A/C unit and awnings on, it'll be a show stopper!

Really nice! I like the details. The a/c units are a nice touch.

I appreciate it...thank you guys.
Granted, those little a/c units seem hardly worth taking new pictures for, but I've waited months and months for those things to finally arrive and feel this little project is finished.
Again, my sincerest thanks go to Iron Goat for not only providing the inspiration, but the train cars needed to do the job too.
