Thanks Ralph, not hard to make at all . The only touchy part is flattening the ends of the movable screw so it slides in the end channel with out turning so the threads stay intermeshed with the bottom screw properly.
Just use different thread pitches to make them in other scales, I think these (HO) are 2/56

They're for squaring parts, conformance, qc, measurment, etc
They have cheaper ones out there for less than $100, yeah they're chinese but the spec range isn't a factor unless your worried over ten-thousands
