Return to Post Function Not Working
#1
I'm not sure where else to put this. Has something happened to the "return to last post function" after submitting a thread? It isn't working for me at all.

I'm not quite sure what, "return to last post" is. When you post either a new thread or post to an existing thread, when you hit the "submit" button, you should return to the post you just made, or, as it says, "return to the forum last visited". Are you saying you don't? If not, where do you come back to? I just tested both functions and I did return to the post I just made. Let me know and I'll see what I can do beyond that.

That is exactly what I am saying. I remain on the interim page which says :

No problems on this end, so I might suggest that you maybe clear out your cache and cookies and see if that helps. We've seen a few weird things happen both here with PhP and on Zealot with vBulletin that doing this cleans these things up. Let me know one way or the other.

Oh yeah, does clicking on either one of those "View your submitted message" or "Return to the forum last visited" links take you to where it says? I never realized before that they were links, but if you don't click, it should take you to the submitted message you just posted.

This is a test after removing all cookies.

Hangs up in exactly the same place. Wallbang

is it supposed to automatically re-direct you back to the thread, or are you supposed to have to click the link? If the former, then it is not working on my end, either. Either way, it is no big deal, because I have never even noticed before Icon_lol

I don't click on anything and it always takes me back to the message I just posted. I'll look around the settings and see if I can find something.

This is a test of permissions.

OK, I've tried a couple of different ways to test this function and each time I come out the same way. I am always returned to the post that I just made. I've checked settings both in the user control panel and the general forum settings and can find nothing that sets these things up or controls where they go. I'll keep looking, but maybe Mikey or Pat has an answer. I'll let you know when I find something. I thought for sure, clearing out the cache and cookies would do the trick.

Thanks, EZDays - it's a small thing, but I appreciate your looking into it.
