Yes. You know who he is. He's well known throughout the US, as well as in many nations of the world.

My dad once rode on a 4501 excursion with him...

Just to hazard a guess, I'd say it was Jimmy Carter. He has been know to work at menial jobs and to do it for peanuts. 357

My second guess would be Ab Lincoln who was born and raised in Illinois. Who know if the Illinois Central was even in existence then, but then again If you don't agree with either of these, I've got a hundred more that might fit... Misngth

A lobbyist is not considered an employee of the company he represents. They are not salaried, but retain a fee.

I understand there is some discrepancy as to the birthplace of Honest Abe....The site linked to above puts him in Kentucky, but I understand that he may have been born in Illinois. Anybody know a little more about this..?

As to the Colonel....I absolutely do not consume his product....First time I tried it, got sicker 'n a dog...and have kept away from it ever since..... Nope

There appears to be some confusion here: I'm almost certain that the Colonel Sanders mentioned by Michael was not Harland Sanders, whose title was an honourary one, but Colonel Beauregard Sanders, a little-known participant in the Civil War, and inventor of the locomotive sander. (see below)

His grand-nephew was the better-known Harland, originator of the "seven secret herbs and spices", with which he "sanded" all that dismembered poultry. Wink Icon_lol Misngth
