Small project photo
#1
While working on my layout the other day I realized that I needed a way to move and load freight in the freight handling area other than just a crane. I went looking through my goody box and found a Boley front end loader that I bought sometime ago.It looked like it would fill the need. This on was the articulated type which I didn't want so I filled in the area behind the cab,cut the back off the cab, added a rear window and a new stack. I then cut the bucket off the arms and added some styrene strips to simulate the fork blades.Once finished I will have something that can do the job.
Enjoy-Bob

Tom-Josh-Thanks for the replies and compliments.Just a little sanding and then paint. Actually the hardest part of this project was putting in the filler pieces in place and make it look like they were always there. Bob

Always a challenge, do you have a set of mini files to smooth out the fillings?

Tom-I have one small file but usually I just use a small piece of sand paper .

Nice!
Bucsh does make a small industrial forklift. Unless, I'm misinterpeting that for use outside.

Thanks 88fan-You are correct.I was looking for something for outdoors use.In fact when I bought this I was going to use it for my coal dealer until I realized it was articulated and would not work for my era so I put it away until the other day and the result is in the photo. As of last night it is now ready for paint. Bob

Nick & Jack-if all goes according to plan, the primer goes on today. Now I know that mostly all equipment like front end loaders, graders etc. are almost always yellow,I'm probably going to go against the grain on this one and use a different color(s).
