The mesa is carved from blue foam and the lower hills are plaster over wet , wadded up news paper.

Wow Mike, I agree wholeheartedly with Gus in his praise of your blending of the backdrop to/with your scenery.
It looks very believable...I love it.

Mike....Looking really good.....Is there a spot contemplated for the "Unobtanium" operation..?? And the trailer camp..??

Thanks Gus , The trailer park will be at the other end of the layout and the Unobtainium mine will tentetivly be near where the mountain has stopped somewhwere.

Here is the Las Cruces Depot I have been working on. It is a bone stock Walthers kit with a few small details added. It is not exactly our depot but really really close.
I stuccoed it using craft paints and Aluminum Oxide blasting media mixed together and painted over the brick structure.
The real thing !!
