Here's a link to Jerry's roundhouse:

It would be nice if this guy and Ross Roland could get together.

Eek! Ross is a character...like the late Dick Jensen, someone you are wise not to get involved with if you have your own choo-choos.
It is going to be pretty special when he has the 763 restored. I'm really looking forward to the 763-765 doubleheader. It'll be a pretty cool day when the 587, 763, 765, and Doyle's PA get together.

Sorry to say I'd have to agree with this statement.

I have not heard of this venture. Is it a venture...private capital and all, or is it a publicly funded, or largely pubicly funded project? I am very surprised that this got past a proposal stage in these times.

Jerry sold the Ohio Central a year or so ago...for $220mil. The roundhouse is in his backyard. In addition to the locomotives he has listed on his website, he's also had a saddle tanker and an additional 2-8-0. He was loosely involved in resolved the ownership controversy of the 2700, and I don't know any of the details, involved with a NKP/W&LE 0-6-0. He also has a collection of vintage diesels and a nice passenger car set.

Suffice it to say OC wasn't overly friendly with railfans if they was caught tresspassing..I was chased out of Morgan's Run engine area..
hock:
I was lost and was turning around-ok,ok so I
was taking my time turning around when this p/u truck stop and advised me I was tresspassing and needed to leave-this was in '96!
Jerry is a big steam fan and building a roundhouse was one of his wishes.
