All that rapid fire 77xx-Series Conrail Blue has inspired me to go dig up my old "prints from film" and try scanning them with my new Kodak Printer/Copier/Scanner to see if I get good enough quality to post on this thread! 2285_

The second locomotive in that consist ...

Conrail Alco C-630 patched as Road Unit #6753

Formerly Reading Company Alco C-630 #5300, built in June, 1966 (ref.)

Sorry ... but I spot those old Reading units immediately!

I just never paid much attention to them when they were around, and I was around where they were. But then, I grew up along the Pennsy Main Line, seeing mP54 MU's, GG-1's, E33's and E44's ... it was electrified territory! (I did see the occasional brace of GP30's in later years on freight drags going straight through on the way west to Pittsburgh.)

Funny, how that always seems to happen, though, that you become interesting in something that was not only near, but all around you, after it's gone and you have moved away! I didn't become interested in the Reading Company until close to forty years later ... after researching it for thirty year as the "subject" prototype on which I patterned my "freelanced-prototype" Lehigh Susquehanna & Western!
