Got my computer back 98$ but well worth it. Any way here is my story i told you about and any comment is welcome.
The M&J was started on march 16 1945 as a bridge line for the Lehigh valley and Erie railroads down near the Pennslvania boarder. When the M&J was started she was given a 4-8-2 light mountain along with a few barrowed locomotives from the two roads to do the work. Once the M&J became stable they got a loan in 1951 the line bought another 4-8-2 light mountain a 2-8-0 a f3 along with a baggage and passenger cars from the faltering NYO&W. The following places is where the M&J served. Pratfall had the Sunrise feed mill, Dalton canning co. Also located here was Pratfall station the locomotive shed, turntable, rip track and engine sand and water tower. In 1949 Webster flour mill came to Pratfall because of the M&J. Heading west across Shallow creek we enter the town of Fenner where Fenner station, Willson st yard, Jims repair shop that shipped and recieved LCL and Fenner power inc. In 1947 Gifford coal co and in 1950 Stanton packing co came to Fenner along with much business in return changed it to the city of Fenner in 1951. Continuing west up the 2% grade up the mountain we enter Hill valley where there was Hill valley station, Hill valley saw mill and more passenger traffic than anything in 1945. 1948 brought Flats grain & seed elavator and in 1949 Black dimond coal mine. Once the line decended from the long mountain run the line would turn back to Pratfall. Since 1952 the M&J gained more fame and support from the area than the Lehigh valley or Erie wanted to see. For they had to let go of a profitable area that nither thought would amount to nothing more than split profit for them. As the years 1957 & 1958 provided what the M&J needed to become an independant railroad. As of this writing in 1961 not much has changed for the M&J other than buying more locos and rolling stock. The Lehigh valley and Erie still interchange with the M&J.
I hope this story went over well, time to get some pics sometime today
