The Gauge 2010 trip.

I wanted to see what kind of interest there is in another official Gauge trip. This year I'd like to suggest The East Broad Top R.R. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ebtrr.com/">http://www.ebtrr.com/</a><!-- m -->
I have never been there so it will be a new experience for me too. Like last year I would like to go the 1st or 2nd weekend in June. Just respond here with any Ideas, likes or dislikes.
There's even a place to stay for those of you out of townees that may want to go. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ironrailbandb.com/">http://www.ironrailbandb.com/</a><!-- m -->

Like last time It's a trip that is open to all Gauge members and there families. We had a great time last year and hope for a good turnout this year.
Last year we got lucky and had good weather ( we didn't plan a rain date ). As it gets closer to June maybe we should think about that.

A trip to the Cleveland area could include rides on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and a trip to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park; a visit to suburban Berea where CSX and Norfolk Southern run a combined 100 trains a day; and a ride on the Cleveland RTA rail transit system with a visit to the historic downtown Terminal Tower.

For those who don't like a city scene northwest Ohio offers a number of railroad-themed attractions including the Bluebird excursion train near Toledo; Deshler's Crossroads Park; more train-watching in Fostoria or Lima; and the folks at the (sometime-to-be) restored Marion Union Station and the (fully) restored AC Tower.

If we do EBT we might be able to schedule in the Altoona Rail Roaders Memorial Museum, then off to the Curve since the tickets for the museum include the curve ticket

But for those of us down south, I like the Ohio idea more....

I'm interested in either or both, although the EBT has long been one of my favourite spots to visit, even when the trains aren't running.

There's also nothing that says that we can't have several groups going to different places. A west coast group could go to one place, southern group to another, and so on and so on. Then post the Who what and where(along with lots of pics). We Have a large membership I'm sure that we could pull this off.
As for me I'd like to stay close to home, My wife is pregnant and due in July, She has a habit of going into labor early so If the big moment comes, I'd like to only be a few hours from home.

There web site also says that it's there 50th anniversary . They also offer rides in there cabooses.
