James St. is a great spot to railfan in Leetown as the street runs parallel to the main yard and locomotive service facilities offering lots of photo opportunities

Hello Everyone---after a brief Christmas holiday,it's back to the grind.Three extras are required to move the backlog of tonnage that has accumulated in the Leetown yard.Luckily the roundhouse has a stable of Mikes on hand and we see a trio of these locomotives heading out to tackle the task at hand.

Hi Matt---here's one for you---these are Accurail cars---actually these cars are very similiar to the cars that the CNR originally used in woodchip service ( with the roofs removed )

Yes, it would be a nice and quick kitbash. BTW, it's good to see CNR freight car's trucks painted in boxcar red as they should! It would be great if Accurail made a Fowler OSB car, would make life easier to a lot of modellers!

Can any of you CN types point me to photos of the wood chip versions? I have a thing for wood chip cars -- and Maine Central actually also had the same sort of outside braced box car wood chip conversions.

In my challenge thread, I gave indication about a RMC article (1976, May I think). There's a picture of an old Maine Central steel boxcar converted to wood chip service. I'll check it for you when I return home this afternoon.

It is clear CN and CP used 40' 3-Bay steel hoppers (without modifications) and roofless boxcar. CN Nutbar took a picture of a roster of them.
