That the modeling on The Gauge has been truly TOP-NOTCH over the past couple of months. Everything from rollingstock to structures to entire layouts. Absolutely superb. A big thanks to all of you who post photos of your work and share your thoughts and ideas and techniques! And keep them coming!

You forgot to mention buildings, too, and I'm not talkin' about the ones on the layout - you and Charlie know what I mean, so, yes, keep 'em comin'. Goldth Goldth

That contest certainly had a lot of inspiring work and great ideas that I learned from.

Kevin, aside from the contest, several other projects I'm talking about (at the risk of offending those that don't immediately come to mind) would be Reinhard's layout, e-paw's roundhouse, Ocalicreek's new benchwork, Steve's Awesome structures on his layout, of course Kurt and docWayne's works as always, Tomustang's locos, Mister Nutbar's steam locos, and Jim Currie's little yellow house. The modeling has been fantastic pretty much across the board, and I seriously enjoy seeing what everyone has been doing.

Gary, I have to agree with you , the skills shown here are always top notch and there's no advertising or spam. If you have a question you post it and someone will most likely have the right answer.

This, Cheers is the heart of the reason why we left "Z" and restarted here. It's what The-Gauge started out to be, and is again.

I'm glad to see people on here post what they do rather than mindlessly link to videos and news like on other forums. User-created content always trumps user-found content.

I hear ya there. On another unmentioned forum, there are plenty of "check out this ebay auction" threads. Any forum related to politics or any issue that can be construed as politics is the worst - impossible to have an informative discussion because people keep copy and pasting junk to try and prove a point rather than something from their own brain. There is a lot of junk on the internet, and Big Blue is one of the best sites i know for camaraderie and helpful information.

An' just' plain ole neighborliness!!!! (H-m-m-m-....I wonder, is that a word???)
I only know what I know, and I don't understand very much of it, either.
