Hunting Locals
#1
Hey guys. I have been awake since yesterday around 10:00-10:30. This morning, I left for Lewistown Junction train station on the ex-PRR Middle Division of the NS(Not sure what division or subdivision NS calls it). I was hoping to catch the NS Local Freight.

No luck.

So I was wondering:

Does anybody happen to know where I can get a schedule of trains operating over the line?

What sort of motive power does NS use on it's locals?

Why did I find an Eastbound unit train of... wait for it.... wait for it.....

You could use this

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/nstrains/NS_Trains.xls">http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/nstrains/NS_Trains.xls</a><!-- m -->

And find the ones that run by from the Harrisburg and Pittsburgh lines

I've seen anything from MP15DCs to D 9s on their locals except for ES40DC and SD80MACs.

On the lehigh line, the most common local power here is gp59, std and high hood gp38-2, sd40-2.
