I like the new car. I have a diesel and a caboose ready and waiting for it.

We are hoping that the old tour car gets back in circulation in a day or so. We would prefer that to a second car since we want to auction it off just as we did the N scale tour car. We thing the car in now in Philly waiting pickup at the Post Office. 8-)

Yup, the car arrived in good condition, passed its physical and has clearance to go back on tour. We should see some action in a day or so.

But yes, the manifest is with it. We have two, there's one that is a replacement for the lost one, that goes up through where I received the goods, and then I transferred the load using the new manifest so there's continuity. The new one is with the car. The replacement is with Sumpter250. 8-)

While railfanning on the Port Able Railway hoping to catch glimpses of their newly restored 44 tonner when I saw this interesting box car being delivered to the Port Able Warehouse. Between switching moves, I asked about the car and I was informed that it was a load of Rocky Mountain Oysters. The 44 tonner is in service because the railroad's GE 45 tonner is in the shop undergoing some repairs. The engine that I was supposed to use (Bachmann 45 tonner in red) was indisposed due to gravity and the effects when said gravitational pull ends, usually with an object of a denser property than said engine (I dropped it, butter fingers).









Did anyone notice that the door was open? It turns out that you're supposed to ship Rocky Mountain Oysters in a refrigerated car, so the car was rather fragrant

It took two weeks of cleaning, scrubbing, and airing the car out to finally be able to enter the car without a hazmat suit. It was finally put into service for pickup at the Regina Manufacturing Corp. for a shipment of Pinky Rings to New Jersey for some organization called the Mothers and Fathers Italian Association - New Jersey Sopranos Chapter. This information was very vague and I was told "You know what happened to the last guy that asked alotta questions? You don't wanna know. Fuggeddaboudit!!!"

Mike! Great to see the car continuing its tour! Sorry to hear about the ill fated Bachmann but that 44 tonner is nice to look at. I also like the windows on that background building. Rocky Mountain Oysters to Pinky Rings...the Big Blue car does it all! By the way, ya gotta be more discrete about things like that last shipment. Whatsdamaddawitchew!?!

Wow, yet another close call for this car. :o :o :o Glad to see it on the move again though, sometimes it takes a very surreptitious route and we can see why now.

Funny thing about the 44 tonner. The Port Able Railway bought a pair of GE 44 tonners from Hardazz Steel Corporation in 1972. The Locomotives were numbered 114 and 118 and the Port Able Railway President, Mike Kieran, thought that they would look sharp in the old Boston & Maine Paint Scheme, so he painted them as such since he thought that this was the best paint scheme EVER on a 44 tonner.

By the way, I got a strange pair of shoes sent to me from the Corleone Shoe Company. The feel awfully heavy. At least they're not ticking .
