As I am waiting on switches from ME I have decided to work on some buildings around town. The first building I decided to tackle will be sitting in a wedge part of the layout that I am trying to draw attention away from the fact the mainline ends against the backdrop. So the plan is to draw peoples attention away from the track and follow the industrial track around the corner. I am not sure how well it will work, but I have to start somwhere... I also wanted to start working on structures for the NMRA AP certificate and figured this would be a good opportunity.

The building will be two different types of construction. The main building will be of cinder block construction and the other part of the building will be a wood frame with corrugated metal. It should make for an interesting structure and will be a bit of challenge.

Greg,

will the wood frame be visible later? Or do you build that just for the, ähem, "judges"?
Also, is there a real prototype for that building?

SP1: the wood will be visable through the large windows and the large open door in the front of the building. If this was not going to be all super detailed I probably would have made it out of plastic and have the doors closed. I was pretty suprised at how quickly I was able to put these three walls togehter, not saying i would stick build every structure but I would encourage everyone to try it at least once...

Tetters: Thanks, your roundhouse has provided me some ideas and inspiration!!

I'm a stick 'n board builder myself, so anytime one of these shows up I'm looking right over your shoulder...
Which reminds me...I still have to build an office/utility building for my roundhouse... Goldth
