Well Bob, a spammer hit four threads today and they were quickly dispatched thanks to an alert member notifying us and a moderator that got up early this morning. By the time you got here, those posts were removed, but we couldn't do anything about your notifications. The only way we can prevent this is to moderate the posts of new members, and we don't want to start doing that. Normally, we don't delete the spam, we move it to a protected area so that we have a record of what went on. That's why you didn't have permission to view the post.

Sorry about that, but at least now you know.... Smile

Thanks Bob, we're kinda attached to that name too. BTW, we are within a few days of yet another anniversary. It'll be eleven for The-Gauge, and three for Big Blue.

Yep, we get pelted with spam almost everyday, yesterday we had exactly the same thing happen, a spammer comes in and randomly finds old threads to post to. Usually they only last a very short time before they're taken care of. If you see spam, feel free to report it by clicking on the triangle in the upper right corner of the post.

These forums are so easy to moderate, thanks to our great members being the way they are, the only thing that keeps the staff awake here is trolling for spammers. 790_smiley_picking_a_fight
