Saving a draft copy of my posts.
#1
G'day All, I got severely `lifed' over this month. Not only Christmas/New year activity and travel, but also some health problems, having builders in to replace a termite affected floor, and having the kid's home for our summer school holidays. Therefore not a lot done either with models or on Big Blue. Having the aforementioned young folks at home limits my computer access and I am wanting to get back on my posts and so I am asking the following question: Can I start work on a post, including putting in images, and then save it as a `draft copy' so that I can come back and finish it off before submitting it to the forum?
Thanks Andrew G.

I'm not aware of any method here to create a 'draft copy', but others may weigh-in with info on that. I have had composition windows open for several hours while composing a post (and often found, when attempting to post it, that I had exceeded the maximum allowable number of characters Wallbang ), but know of no way to save it here.
For posts which require some time to compose, I usual do them in a 'Word' document. When a photo is required, I leave a space or two, then type 'Insert photo #xxx here'.

When you've finally completed the text, simply 'COPY' and 'PASTE' it in your new composition window here, then add the necessary photos according to your notations, erasing the 'Insert....' notation, of course. Wink Goldth

G'day Wayne,
The reason I am thinking about draft copies is that the User Control Panel, on the "overview" tab has a section titled: "Manage drafts". I do appreciate your suggestion of creating a word document and cutting and pasting, I have done that a couple of times already. Hopefully the Forum managers/moderators can fill us in.
Thanks, Andrew G.

You should write your posting as usual with photo references etc. That text can be copied and pasted at any time into any simple plain text file and restored later into a new created empty append.

That is there for drafts of Private Messages(PMs), I suppose you can use that for saving drafts for regular messages also if you just copy and paste.

G'day Mate - Glad to hear from OZ every once in a while Smile Smile Smile

Either of those ways will work and they all work the same.. Write it, then copy it, then past it into a post.
