DRG "Baden" Class IVh steams past the Ore Hill complex.

By the way. This loco is up for sale. Looks and runs great. Selling this and many more items for a friend who found it in a basement clean-out.

If I don't keep it for my commission......

wish I had a basement where I find this sort of thing.....
I am not entirely sure, but I think the model is either a Marklin, Trix or a Roco. I'm guessing Marklin as the flanges on the pilot wheels seem a little crude. Roco is (was) usually better at masking those, but I could be wrong....

Its actually from a company called Liliput. It was made in Austria. They were in business untill 1988 when Bachmann Europe bought them and moved everything to China. I'm guessing that the quality isnt as great. It has detail very rarely seen for the time except in brass models. Separately applied detail parts, real fine plastic castings. Was a little leary about the tender drive, but it worked great. Not a real big steam fan, but this model is starting to turn me.

Liliput, yes I know them. They were okay, the detailing you are refering too was pretty common, particularly locomotives made by the fellow Austrian Roco company. They had MU hoses etc (where applicable), and many other separately applied details. (they were pretty much the only european main stream modelrailroad company to provide additional details in little plastic bags).
Roco was in my opnion, well ahead of the game, and although considerably more expensive than an Athearn BB, they were similar to Kato or other quality brands, and cheaper than Marklin or Fleischmann..
Those were the days....
