Were these DE trains run by DE crews or was the power just supplied to Conrail? How long did these trains run with DE locos?

The power and cars were supplied by Detroit Edison, crews by the railroads. This photo was on the P&LE which, at that time, was handling the train from the mine and north to Youngstown. The first pictures I have of them on the Conrail Fort Wayne Line are in 1983
