Oddities among the model railroading kits. Sometimes I have no clue what items are, perhaps you have a oddity and would like to post it here so someone else might be able to answer what it is.
I'll start: Circled in yellow, this kit is made by bowser for selley, it's a portable compressor trailer but I have no clue what this square L bracket is...

im thinking its a hitch too.it looks like it is placed with the bottom leg aiming down for the compressor to stand up level with the ground.--josh

A long piece of metal, bent into an "L".
Before I read what the description was, I thought at first that you were putting together a wood chipper, and the was the discharge chute. After reading, I'll have to agree with Josh and JB.

That was the first thing thought, but the bracket is too long and too high to be the stand

According to the drawing in the Bowser catalogue, that is the drawbar/hitch and stand for the compressor. You'll have to trim the length of the long arm to suit, then trim the short one so that the compressor sits level.

Maybe it was a overrun part on anther kit and they just threw it in this one
