Been awhile since we had a challenge, any plan to have a new one anytime soon?
Would anyone be interested in one if there was?

What kind of challenge are you thinking of?

You are right, we haven't had a challenge in a while. The last couple of photo challenges fell kind of short, but I think that's because of the nature of the subject. I'm open to starting one anytime and I'm open to suggestions. I don't want to pick a subject where we only have two or three entries.
Give me a few ideas of what you all would like to see for the next challenge.

How about we go back to our roots. Way back when ( 09 I think ) we did a three part challenge.... A scratch build, kit build, and kitbash challenge. It was very popular with several entries in each group. Now that we are having our 5 year anniversary may be it would be fitting to do something like that.

E-Paw that is a great idea to keep with the theme of our 5 year anniversary is to repeat the first challenge we had. Do you think if we ran if from Memorial Day to Labor day that would be to long?
Just for clarity, the challenge itself could be something that is either kit built, scratch built or Kit Bashed?

I did a bit of research and we had a challenge over at the old place seven years ago with two parts, Kitbash and Kit build. Five years ago (May '09), we had a three part one, kit build, kit bash and scratchbuild. I like that idea since we did have good participation in both challenges in all categories and it gave everyone at all levels a chance to enter something. mountaingoatgreg Wrote:E-Paw that is a great idea to keep with the theme of our 5 year anniversary is to repeat the first challenge we had. It worked before, so I don't think we want to mess with success. We had some members enter in more than one category, and that was good to see. As I remember, there were a few restrictions to keep things fair for new modelers. And no, I think going the whole summer is great, it gives everyone time to get their challenges done as well as taking time out for vacations... or mowing the grass... Starting five years from the last one is a good way to celebrate our anniversary, so stayed tuned, I think we have a challenge brewing.

It's been many years since I've had a "real" beer thanks to my metabolism. Even a couple of N/A beers (.05% alcohol), can be too much, so I limit myself to just one of those. Still, at our ages, you do what your body and doctors tell you to do.
