Contemporary CSX layout and Conrail blue is a perfect match when the CR engine gets a little patch job. This engine survived in CR blue at least until 2009.

A spare Atlas UP GP38 shell is easy to patch for GMTX and resides happy on a Trainman UP drive.

ps. Looks like UP's roster holds a lot of various GATX GP38-2 in blue/white and some UP yellow paint scheme for switching and branch line service. The white lettering must be intended for the blue paint scheme but it is used on yellow engines too some times. Very cost effective.

A local railfan curses his slow timing, and that darned signal bridge and telegraph pole for spoiling what could have been a better shot of a pair of B&O F7s leading one of the two weekly coal trains that are starting to appear on the Kings Port Division, thanks to a recent agreement between the B&O and the Kings Port & Western.

Reinhard,

It stayed in CR paint till the end of February or early March 2011, so you will be able to extend it's time on your layout.

Ralph,

At least he didn't wait for over an hour to get the shot and have someone park their car right in front of you, jump out and grab a quick shot and then say sorry pal as he speeds off.

A little bit of what I've been up to.

First off is a troop car converted into a double door box car by the SH&D shops. She is all ready for decals,, I'm sure that Tomustang can figure which ones will go on it.

,,,and a sparrows point kit of a CNJ plywood caboose. GEC helped in the restoration of one of these. She still needs a few more details added before she is ready for paint.

I did a best guess of the underside details as most of it is not visible from a normal height.

My other car is a locomotive, ARHS restoration crew

Its ironic you posted this! I just dug my own model of this caboose out and tried to finish it this past week, but somewhere along the line, I lost the awnings. Guess i'll have to order more. I'm actually thinking about starting over with a new kit, since mine probably isn't coming out all that great (I started it many years ago)

I was smart and took underbody shots of that CNJ caboose, #91291. I don't know where it is now, but its supposedly still around.

I'll definitely post those pics when I find them.
