Cumbres & Toltec vs Durango & Silverton

If you had a choice which one would you ride? Any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have ridden both, and the experience is different enough to recommend "both".
The Durango & Silverton was the more recent ride so my memories of that are clearer. I had a great time.
In either case, take lots of photos.

Plan ahead to ride either or both as you may need reservations 1-2 months ahead.

Without a doubt, the Cumbres & Toltec; it has much more varied scenery and a number of elements that are not seen along the Durango train (tunnels and snowsheds to be specific). Be sure to ride the full length of the line and return by bus.

Durango and Silverton because of the ruggedness of the terrain and the incredible views of the Los Animas River Canyon.

Thanks for the replies.

After looking at both on Google maps and considering my travel plans, I'm leaning toward the C & T.
